This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and to the data flows associated with the Firm's intake and case management systems, including Clio Grow, Clio Manage, and Clio Payments. It does not apply to third-party websites that may be linked from the Site, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

Billing, retainer, and payment information submitted through Clio Payments or other designated third-party payment processors; and

Correspondence sent by email, text message (SMS), online form, or postal mail.

Payment processors engaged through Clio Payments for the secure processing of retainer and invoice payments.

Personal information is not sold to third parties. Personal information is not shared with third parties for their own independent marketing or advertising purposes. Information may be disclosed where required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or as necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Firm, clients, or others.

This section governs the collection, use, and disclosure of mobile telephone numbers and text messaging (SMS) data submitted to the Firm.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.

Text messaging data, including your mobile telephone number and any consent to receive SMS communications, is used exclusively for administrative and transactional communications between the Firm and the client or prospective client, including but not limited to appointment confirmations and reminders, consultation scheduling communications, document signing alerts, and client portal notifications. The Firm does not send marketing or promotional text messages. 6. Data Security and Ethical Confidentiality Obligations

As a New York attorney, Todd W. Carpenter, Esq. is bound by the duty of confidentiality set forth in New York Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 1.6, which governs information relating to the representation of a client. Administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are maintained that are designed to protect personal and confidential information transmitted to or stored by the Firm, consistent with these professional obligations.

Notwithstanding these safeguards, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Email, SMS text messages, and web-based form submissions may be transmitted over unencrypted or partially encrypted channels and could, in rare circumstances, be intercepted or accessed by unauthorized third parties. The Firm cannot and does not guarantee absolute security of any information transmitted electronically, and by choosing to communicate with the Firm through these channels, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk. Prospective clients are cautioned not to transmit highly sensitive information prior to the establishment of a formal attorney-client relationship, as further explained in the Terms and Conditions.

Information submitted by prospective clients who do not retain the Firm is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for conflict-check recordkeeping and administrative purposes, after which it may be securely deleted or archived.
